RAQUEL SHUTT, CMP, CWP, MBA

I am the President of Raquel Shutt Event Consulting, bringing more than 20 years of leadership experience in the meetings and events industry. Known for my strategic approach, creativity, and trusted leadership, I specialize in delivering exceptional, high-impact events for corporate and nonprofit clients nationwide.

I began my hospitality career with Marriott and earned my Certified Wedding Planner designation in 2001. I went on to complete my Master of Business Administration at Loyola University Maryland in 2004, where I founded Wedding Savvy, Inc. Over the next 17 years, Wedding Savvy grew into a nationally recognized, award-winning event planning firm distinguished by its client-centered philosophy and consistent execution. In 2019, following the successful expansion and maturation of the business, I sold the company to a longtime employee in order to focus on corporate events and strategic consulting.

Since then, I have continued to expand my corporate meetings and events practice, delivering conference and meeting planning services with an emphasis on thoughtful strategy, operational excellence, and elevated guest experiences. In 2023, I introduced the Golden Rule Meetings brand to further support conference and meeting planning initiatives, and in 2025, I earned my Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) credential.

I bring a deep passion for hospitality, a strong business foundation, and a commitment to excellence to every engagement. Outside of work, I enjoy golfing, spending time with family and friends, and being actively involved in my Catholic church community.
